RESOLVED DUPLICATE of bug 537856

Details

User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Linux x86_64; rv:109.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/114.0

Steps to reproduce:

  1. Search for something that will hit the search limit. (1k messages by default)
  2. Look at the timeline.

Actual results:

The timeline shows that all messages are recent.

Expected results:

Ideally the timeline would show the actual message distribution (maybe doing secondary count searches asynchronously?) but at the very least there should be some indication that there may be older messages, they just haven't been searched.

There is a similar issue with the total count. Right now it will say "of 1000". It should really say something like "of many" or "of greater than 1000".

Mentioning the search limit pref mailnews.database.global.search.msg.limit for searchabililty.
