When opening the message, the attachments should be listed as a pane in the upper right corner of the message message window. Clicking New to this release, attachments are ignored for both new and older mail. By older mail, I mean mail received and read with a prior release (1.2.0 and older). The paper clip icon is not displayed on new mail in the folder summaries, but older messages still show the paper clip. However, when opening the mail, new or old, no mechanism is provided to display the attachment. There is no window for the attachments, nor is there a hyperlink. Note: Menu Message->Edit as new --- is able to see the attachment. Note: This release, 1.2.1 was installed as an upgrade to 1.2.0 Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1.Create email to yourself with a .pdf or .doc attachment. 2.Send it 3.Receive it 4.Look for the paper clip in the inbox folder summary pane -- you won't see it 5.Open the mail 6.Try to open the attachment -- there is nothing to click on Actual Results: 4. no paper clip 5. no attaachment indicated Expected Results: continue to work as in prior releases My mozilla was installed over prior releases.
also similar: bug 183231 reporter: which theme are you using?
180055: doesn't seem related. This impacts all attachments, not links. Also I don't believe the problem was in 1.2B. 183709: may be similar. 183231: significant differences in symtoms. In this case email is not marked as having attachments. Double clicking produces a new blank window instead of mail. theme: unknown
Problems must be related to user profile somehow. Is there an option to ignore attachments? 1) I copied message directories to a new location, I then installed Netscape 7.0, and created a New profile with a link to the copied message directories. Netscape 7.0 worked fine -- mail with attachments looked proper. 2) I then closed Netscape and opened Mozilla with the New profile. Mozilla now displayed with the new Netscape style browser. Mail with attachments now worked OK. Paper clips, on the directory pane. Attachment list in the mail pane. 3) I closed Mozila and re-opened it under the prior failure profile. Attachment problem reappeared! Browser displayed with old Netscape 4.7 appearance.
