User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 10.0; Win64; x64; rv:109.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/116.0
Steps to reproduce:
- Enter full screen on a video (YouTube, Netflix, etc.) in a fresh tab
- Click/change focus to a window on the other monitor
- Pause the full screen video
- "website is now full screen" message does not disappear
Following the steps with "full-screen-api.warning.timeout" set to greater than 0 causes the "website is now full screen" to pop up a second time and disappear at the set amount of time. This only seems to occur if the steps are performed before the original message disappears.
Actual results:
"website is now full screen" message shows and does not disappear
Expected results:
"website is now full screen" does not appear at all, since "full-screen-api.warning.timeout" is set to 0
this bug is reproducible even with one monitor.
- open a video, for example on youtube.com.
- enter full screen mode by pressing "F" key or clicking the player button (not by double-clicking).
- switch to another window, including PiP.
- return to the window with video.
this useless message is so annoying...
gkcrandal, please remove "with dual monitors" from bug title.

I couldn't reproduce while full-screen-api.warning.timeout is set to 0, therefore I'm only changing the component to Audio/Video.

i don't know if it helps, but i dd notice , that if the video on YT is not playing the issue does not always happen.
if the video is playing i do get the message always
i made 2 screen recordings of it
see: http://nl.pjottrr.nl/write/FF
i hope this helps a bit
Same on Linux with KDE.
Also happens by using +/- volume buttons on keyboard, without switching to another window.

But also it seems fixed for me in recent Nightly. And mozregression points to Bug 1847901 as fix:

So should be fixed in 116.0.3
