Similar behavior with non-Google email account trying to be setup within Microsoft Remote Desktop Version 10.9.7 (2192) (beta) and Version 10.9.6 (2188).
No primary password on account. No smartcard. Account sets up fine in MacOS 14.3 with Thunderbird 115.9.0 - just not within Remote Desktop.
Thunderbird version on Remote Desktop is 115.8.1

Sorry it was 7 months ago )
No card. Tried to create gmail account. As Google switched to their oauth window so username/password entry happens solely within their form
