Steps to reproduce:

tried to send an E-mail with outlook.com

Actual results:

I got a brief message, ' enter credentials for (my e-mail.com) on smpt.office365.com. '
Then, ' Sending message failed because connection to Outgoing server (SMPT) smpt.office365.com timed out. Try again. '

Expected results:

E mail sent.
I sent the e-mail on my imap.gmail.com account successfully.
I am logged in to my Microsoft account
I can receive e-mails to my outlook.com account

Looks like you have a typo in the hostname - should be smtp not smpt. Correct that?

Sorry, that was My typo. SMTP is correct and what is in my email configuration and the pop-up message. The problem still exists, unfortunately.

Summary: enter credentials for xxx@xxx.com on smpt.office365.com → enter credentials for xxx@xxx.com on smpt.office365.com, then "Sending message failed because connection to Outgoing server (SMPT) smpt.office365.com timed out. Try again."
