Steps to reproduce:

Use FF 116 or 117 (it may go back further as far as 113, I can't remember). Open lots of tabs. Hit ctrl+shift+tab.

Actual results:

Note that you can't see all your tabs. Scrolling with the arrow keys will expose the ones that rolled off the bottom of the screen (scrolling up with the up arrow is the fastest way to get to the bottom and see this issue at its worst). It will also scroll the "search tabs" and "new container tab" items off screen.

Expected results:

It should have scroll buttons top and bottom when there are too many tabs to fit on screen, like it used to, so all tabs are accessible, and the menu items never disappear.

The Bugbug bot thinks this bug should belong to the 'Firefox::Tabbed Browser' component, and is moving the bug to that component. Please correct in case you think the bot is wrong.

Component: Untriaged → Tabbed Browser

I am not able to reproduce the issue on neither Win10x64/Mac 12.6 using FF builds 117.0 and 116.0. Scroll jumps to either top or bottom of the tabs list without issues.
Reporter, can you please try same scenario with a new and empty profile (how to create one you can see here: https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/troubleshoot-and-diagnose-firefox-problems#w_6-create-a-new-firefox-profile)
Thank you for your responses.

Thank you for your responses.

Thank you for your help! I am on OpenSUSE Tumbleweed KDE, so maybe this is specific to that environment. I tried a fresh profile, and at first it appeared to work, but further attempts I was able to make it fail. It's very intermittent and dependent on the state of the browser. I have taken some screenshots to try to explain. Here, I start with a fresh profile, hold down ctrl and T for a while to create a lot of new tabs, and then click the all tabs list button to get the results.

If I start with one of the last tabs selected - so one at the end of that list (you can see it is bold) - then the list appears without the menu items at the top, like they are cut off... (That's image 1 on the left). I can scroll with the mouse but it will never scroll all the way to the top of the list, and I will never see the menu items. (Image 2 from the left). If I use the keyboard keys to scroll up through the list, it will eventually reach the very top, including the previously hidden menu items. (image 3 from the left). If I select one of the early tabs (again note it is the bold one) then the list drops down with the menu items in place and I can scroll around it with the mouse wheel but it will never scroll all the way to the bottom, so if I scroll-wheel all the way down, then select the bottom-most tab on the list, then shift+ctrl+tab or click the btutton to show the menu, it will show me that I have in fact selected one of the tabs about half way through the total list of tabs.

I hope the image and description help you to reproduce this issue, and thanks very much for your time and assistance :)

Summary: All tabs list no longer has scroll buttons when the list is taller than the display → All tabs list no longer works when the list is taller than the display

Similar to my other case regarding the all tabs list https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1851505 I am not able to reproduce this bug in a KDE Neon live VM. Perhaps this is an opensuse bug and I should file it there? Apologies if so!

In my efforts to pinpoint this issue, so I could file it correctly, I have found that this issue only exists in Wayland sessions.

If I log into Plasma Wayland, it fails as described. If I log into Plasma X11, it works as expected.

Summary: All tabs list no longer works when the list is taller than the display → All tabs list no longer works when the list is taller than the display - only on Wayland

I found this issue also not present in a live Ubuntu 23.04 Wayland session, so I'm confident that this is specific to OpenSUSE Wayland sessions.
I have filed that bug: https://bugzilla.opensuse.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1215137 and will resolve this as invalid

Apologies for wasting your time, and thank you for helping me to pin down replication of the issue.
