Details

User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Win98; en-US; rv:1.2.1) Gecko/20021130
Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Win98; en-US; rv:1.2.1) Gecko/20021130

Many times I hit <enter> instinctively when I introduce a search in the URL tab;
that brings out an "Alert: URL is not valid and cannot be loaded" window. I
close that window, select the URL tab again, hit <down> so the scrolldown menu
shows up, then hit <down> again so the "Search google for..." gets selected.
Then I hit <enter>, and instead of doing the search, it opens the alert window
again.

There are two "bugs" here: one (I've reported it as an enhancement an hour ago)
is that instead of opening an "Alert" window it could perform a search. The
second, which is more of an interface bug, is that though the "Search Google
for..." is clearly selected, hitting <enter> does not do the search and instead
opens another "Alert"...

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1.Insert "oral sex" in the URL tab
2.Hit <enter> ["alert" window pops up]
3.Hit <enter> ["alert" window closes]
4.Select URL tab again with mouse
5.Hit <down> twice [opens dropdown menu, selects "Search Google for oral sex"]
6.Hit <enter>
Actual Results:
An "Alert" window saying "URL is not valid and cannot be loaded" pops.

Expected Results:
Give me oral sex. I mean, a search.

Plain Mozilla 1.2.1 installed a couple hours ago over a Mozilla 1.0
This bug is fixed on trunk builds.
