Steps to reproduce:

I created a new account to point to an IMAP account with many personal folders.

Actual results:

Thunderbird did create an Inbox and populate that with messages within the Inbox. Other subscribed folders are shown. However, no folders other than the Inbox are shown. They do exist on the IMAP server.

Expected results:

I should have seen my other folders, e.g. Business, Trash, Sent, etc.

I did see in another account in the same Thunderbird profile pointing to a different server that an Inbox.sdb directory was created that held the personal folders. I did not see this directory for the new account.

The IMAP server is cyrus-imapd version 3.0.7. It does have the "altnamespace" turned on. This causes the IMAP server to support "the alternate IMAP namespace, where personal folders reside at the same level in the hierarchy as INBOX." This is also turned on for the other IMAP server mentioned above.

I have figured out the issue. I had added my account as an administrator for cyrus-imapd. It is not recommended that an admin account be the same account that reads mail as it affects the personal folder view.
