RESOLVED DUPLICATE of bug 1852849

People

(Reporter: dbolotin, Unassigned)

Details

Steps to reproduce:

In New Message, I pressed CTRl+I to get italics (or CTRL+U to get underline).

Actual results:

The curser went back to beginning of line. No italics, no underline.

Expected results:

The font should have changed to italics or underline, and the curser should have remained where it was.

Seems to work fine for me on linux.

Component: Untriaged → Message Compose Window

Are you using any add-ons?
Which operating system are you using?
Do you have any open applications that overrides shortcuts like a screen reader or other assistive technologies?
Does this still reproduces if you restart in troubleshoot mode with no add-on?

Flags: needinfo?(dbolotin)

I'm not using add-ons. I'm using Windows 10. No open applications.
Also, the bug I'm reporting is the same as bug 1852849 (Composing message, turning on italics, underline or bold jumps to line start) The person who reported that bug described the situation more fully than I did.

I might also add that this bug doesn't appear when I reply to an incoming message, but only when I compose a new message. (My work-around, for what it's worth, is to send myself a dummy message and to reply to it (changing the addressee, of course).
