Steps to reproduce:
I cannot do any specific thing to reproduce TB to be frozen. It just freezes on no notice usually after less than 15 seconds.
Actual results:
I am trying to work normally but TB freezes very often on no notice usually after less than 15 seconds. I have already deleted many older mails and cleared my inbox, spam and garbage - it does not help. I have not installed any new add-ons for a long time. I am running TB on a Windows 10 64-Bit system running as virtual machine under VMware Workstation 17.02.
This is happening since only about 3 months ago. Before that TB was working very smoothly. I have no idea what may be causing this behavior.

I tried to start in troubleshoot mode (without any add-ons): I had the same freezing behavior as in normal mode
Hello,
We are facing the same freezes on TB 115 on Windows and Linux, it's seems to be the calendars are the issue.
When calendars are unactivated, TB don't freeze (but not as very smooth as version 102).
Thunderbird with calendars activated, it freezes, or it is very very slow.
Our calendars have a lot of events, one have 5700+ events (since June 2013).
Some people have 10 to 20 calendars (only one calendar in read/write, the others in read only).
All was fine with TB 102, problems occurs with automatic update to TB 115 (from 102).

For that, get a performance profile. https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/profiling-thunderbird-performance

I just collected a performance profile and loaded it to https://share.firefox.dev/3Q3a5Lv . The freezing occured at the end of the collection as I was calling a link to the browser. As I said innitially this is only one instance of freezing. It could occur in any situation. Hopefully this will provide you with the needed insight to solve the problem. Thank you for taking an intrest.

The time is spent in CalRecurrenceRule getOccurrences

Is the unifinder showing? (The search events widget). And what range is it set to?

https://share.firefox.dev/3Q3a5Lv gives a complete view of whatever was visible from TB (even though resolution is poor). There was no extra window open besides this main window. I was not searching for anything at the time I collected this data.

This morning I updated to TB 115.4.1. I am very happy to report that TB is not freezing any more as before. Now I can work again as I am used to. Thank you very much for your help.

I am sorry to report that after a few days now TB 115.4.1 is freezing again - not quite as often as before yet but increasingly

karl are you still seeing this with version 128?

I do not know how version 128 translates to the version numbers shown in TB. But I can report that for many months now TB is performing very smoothly again as I was used to in the far past. Today my system updated to version 115.15.0 and I have not noticed any problems yet.
Thank you very much for keeping up this fine program and caring for my request.
