We've learnt a lot from the existing search engine configuration, and we are now taking some of those lessons to create a new version of the schema.
The main change is to incorporate the information from the search system add-ons directly into the configuration. This will avoid the two-configuration split of the separate search engine definitions and the "deployment" configuration. Removing this will make it easier to manage and reduce overheads.
