Details
(Keywords: perf, regression, Whiteboard: [closeme 2024-10-01][Supernova3p])
User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Linux x86_64; rv:109.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/117.0
Steps to reproduce:
- Select/change/enter a folder (especially one with many messages)
- Hit Ctrl+Shift+K to quick filter
- Start typing
Actual results:
- Quick filter input is suddenly reset/deleted, I have to start over.
It feels like this happens when the message list finishes loading.
Expected results:
Quick filter should not be reset (I should not have to wait until the message list finishes loading; or the input should be disabled until this happens).
The folder in question is my unified inbox, it contains ~30k messages. The reset happens roughly 1 second after the folder change.
I noticed this behavior after the update to v115. Pretty disruptive to my workflow :)

I do see the input-getting-reset fairly often. But I don't know why it happens.

I have also seen this with Mac using beta. Although rarely. Happens so quickly it's easy to miss.

The reset (deletion of already entered words/characters) persists in TB 115.5.0 64 bit for Linux.
Seconding Daniel, reset persists at 115.4.3.

And is View > SortyBy set to "Threaded" or "Unthreaded?

I think I am still seeing this (rarely) on nightly.
bikubi, in the next couple weeks see if you can reproduce at all in version 128, which will be just coming out.

I don't know about 128, but I still have it in 115.15.0.
In what version is the (incomplete) fix supposed to be included?
Also calling @bikubi for more info :-)

There will have been no changes in version 115. The question today, is for version 128's behavior - my comment 13 would have been using 128.

Hi! Thanks for pinging & sorry for the delay, my distro has been unusually slow in picking up new versions.
Now on v>130 I see this much, much less - I think I caught it once in the last couple of weeks.
