In message list Cards View, indicate clearly when a message is unread
This includes updating the icon for unread messages. The icon is a green dot.
The subject on unread messages are bold, which is the current functionality.
Make sure this works for light themes, dark themes, and high contrast themes.
This task may be broken up into subtasks if helpful.

Just wanted to report this in a new bug.
Based on referenced bug, I'm not sure if you are only trying to clearly distinguish new from old unread messages OR all unread from read messages?
I have problem with distinguishing read from unread messages in light theme in Cards View (I don't use dark so not sure if it's relevant there).
Only difference between read / unread message in Cards View is BOLD first line (sender and timestamp). Maybe if you could also have regular message title when message is read and not bold it would be easier to see which messages are read. Or some other way.

Updated this to track the dependencies on the meta bugs.
