After I installed Mozilla 1.2 the browser only opens and works during the first
opening directly after the install. I can even go into the browser and tell it
to open a new window and it doesn't do anything. This problem started after I
installed Mozilla 1.2. It now occurs with any Mozilla version I install.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Download Mozilla
2. Install Mozilla
3. Close Mozilla after install and try to open again.

Actual Results:  
The quick start opens up, but the browser never opens.

Expected Results:  
Opened up the Browser.

Reporter: Do you have incompatible themes installed?
Try deleting chrome/chrome.rdf (under your profile dir)

If that doesn't help, quit all, delete XUL.mfl in your profile dir, and tell if
that hslped.

I had to delete that directory. What file stores the bookmarks?

bookmarks.html contains the bookmarks. (It isn't in the chrome dir)

You say you "had to delete that directory". You mean Mozills starts OK again
after you deleted it, right?

Yes, Mozilla is working correctly now. Deleting the file XUL didn't fix
anything. Since I deleted/moved my profile directory I lost my bookmarks. What
file do I need to restore to get my bookmarks back.

bookmarks.html is the file that contain the bookmarks.
There may also be a backup file of it, so search for bookmarks.*

why have you deleted your profile ?
You should only delete chrome.rdf/xul.mfl .

If you really deleted your profile, your bookmarks are lost :-(
If you moved it only, copy the bookmarks.html into your new profile while
mozilal IS NOT running.
