Details

User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Win98; en-US; rv:1.3a) Gecko/20021216
Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Win98; en-US; rv:1.3a) Gecko/20021216

The tooltip which should appear on the dropdown menus from the
print/back/forward buttons is blank until the tooltip on the button itself has
been displayed.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Start Mozilla
2. Browse a few pages
3. Pulldown the back menu (make sure you don't trigger the tooltip on the button)
4. Hover over an item on the menu

Actual Results:
The small box which represents an empty tooltip appears.

Expected Results:
The tooltip text should appear.

If you repeat the test after triggering the tooltip on the button itself then
everything works.

Note that this is not the same as bug #117377, which says that blank tooltips
shouldn't appear at all. If that were fixed then this would still be a bug.
What I get is not an empty tooltip, but a worng one for the items in that list,
namely the last tooltip showed.
For example, if I trigger the tooltip for the URL bar, then I get that one for
the items in the back button pulldown list. Same applies to the forward button.
And this happens always, it's not a initialization problem.

Build 2002121708 on W2K.

Yes, it is a duplicate. Just a coincidence that I saw a "meaningful" tooltip.
The dropdowns never have any tooltip text and so they just pick up the last real
tooltip.
