On full page Android translations, partial language files that are downloaded in the course of translating web pages are stored in the browser cache and are deleted when the user deletes their "Cached images and files." Language files that are manually downloaded from Settings are stored separately and are not deleted when data is cleared; they can only be deleted manually from Settings.
We believe that desktop should work similarly so that space-conscious users have an option to get rid of partial files.
To investigate:
- Where are partial language files stored today?
- Can we set it up so that they are deleted when browser data is cleared?
- Which browser data category should they be stored under? Desktop has two categories under "Clear Data": 1) Cookies and Site Data 2) Cached Web Content;
- There are even more categories available when deleting site history. Should partial language files fall under that umbrella, or not?
