Steps to reproduce:

I suspect there are other websites that behave the same but i tested with this>

Click choose an option > the gtk/system style drop down menu will appear> click on an option.

Firefox wayland on weston

Actual results:

You cant choose what you clicked. Behaves like you never clicked

Expected results:

Select the option.

Tried that. No change. Still doesn't work.

Hello,

I tried here https://www.w3schools.com/tags/tryit.asp?filename=tryhtml_select tying to choose car "Saab".
I ran Firefox with: MOZ_LOG="WidgetPopup:5"

When I left-click "Saab" nothing happens.
See attached files: "Normal click.txt"

When I Shift + left click "Saab" then "Saab" is selected.
See attached files: "Shift click.txt"

We can see that when using shift, the click event is captured:

The 2 logs were captured when the page was already loaded.
They contain the sequence, click on the list, then select "Saab".

I suspect https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1600584 to b a duplicate.
