For now the only ways to remove an editor is to use the backspace/delete keys or in using the context menu.
We want to make this feature more visible.

Maybe worth adding to the release notes since it's very visible.
Release Note Request
[Why is this notable]: We added a user-visible way to delete things added while editing PDFs. It was previously difficult for users to delete things as it required a keyboard control.
[Affects Firefox for Android]: No.
[Suggested wording]: We have introduced a floating button to simplify deleting drawings, text, and images added in PDFs (also add screenshot).

This issue is verified as fixed, we have a delete button for each highlight.
