I don't see that for linux/trunk.
Are you using an en-US build, or something localized?

Actually, I do see a bunch of messages in the error console about missing strings.

I do not see it broken in 121. I would like to hear back from the bug reporter, if this is fixed for him in current daily and if it is broken in 121 for him (was reported broken in 120).
I think ESR is unaffected.
I still have this issue in 121.0b1 (64-bit)

You reopened this bug. Did you confirm, that it is really not fixed in Daily (122.0a1, 2023-11-26)?
Older versions will be fixed thru back-ports, which will be reflected in the status flags.
Can you give more details about your environment, so I can try to reproduce the error on older versions?
Can you please also answer, if Thunderbird 115 ESR is affected for you?

@John
Did you confirm, that it is really not fixed in Daily (122.0a1, 2023-11-26)?
nope I didn't try that. Send me a link as to how to find it and I'll give it a go. (I did a bit of searching and couldn't find it, it's not at https://archive.mozilla.org/pub/thunderbird/releases/ either)
I noted that my thunderbird beta had updated to 121, so I thought it would be useful to report.
I'm on fedora 39 + Gnome 45 + Wayland. I installed thunderbird by downloading a .tar and it has been updating itself therein. The text is missing for any extension I click on.
thanks,
Rich (they/them)

Bug 1865787 - Add missing fluent files to aboutAddonsExtra.js. r=mkmelin
[Approval Request Comment]
Regression caused by (bug #):
User impact if declined: Some user may not see localized strings inside the AOM
Testing completed (on c-c, etc.): just landed
Risk to taking this patch (and alternatives if risky): low, we just load additional fluent files
