Steps to reproduce:
Read and unread items in the messages list are same, see printscreen. Current regression after upgrade daily to 122.0a1 (2023-11-27) (64-bit).
Actual results:
Unread messages should be bold.
Expected results:
Read and unread messages seems the same.
Maybe not a regression, but just badly visible in Cards view. In Table view I can easily distinguish read and unread messages.

Hi. Thanks for reporting this.
Are you still seeing this on the most recent daily? Maybe this has already been fixed. Or maybe this is related to your font settings.
This is a screenshot in comment #2 of a message thread. (Density is compact with 12px font using the default font.) The heaviness / font weight of read messages is considerably less than what is on your screen shot.
There are some differences with unread and read messages. Unread messages display as a green dot next to the message. Read messages are a dot without any color / fill inside. Unread messages also have a bold subject. In your screenshot, the text being bold for unread message is less clear because your already read messages are already quite dark compared to what I currently see on my system. The yellow star is for new messages. New messages also have a blue subject.
We probably could make those icons for read messages a lot clearer. This is valid that in some instances, the font difference and icon difference between unread and read messages may not be enough to make clear whether or not a message is unread or read.

Hi Elizabeth,
122.0a1 (2023-12-01) (64-bit) - still the same. I see your screenshot and this is correct - read and unread messages are clearly different. I'm on linux, gnome, density Compact, in settings of TB is default font=sans-serif, size 16. I see the green dots, I see subject is bold, but it's not clearly visible. I would like to see what you have on your printscreen.
