Details
User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 6.1; Win64; x64; rv:109.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/115.0
Steps to reproduce:
Tried to send email. - Connection timed out error from Thunderbird.
Tried different Protocol setups (TLS, NONE, etc...) - No Effect
Disabled all Avast 23.11.6090 (build 23.11.8635.809) shields. - Success mail sent
Whitelisted Thunderbird, enabled shields. - Failure.
Tried several switches in Avast setup.
Actual results:
Final result was success by unchecking "Scan outbound emails (SMTP)" found
in the Core Shields - Mail Shield. (This would, however, allow outbound viruses to propagate. )
Expected results:
The Avast core mail shield should be able to scan outbound emails.
Mozilla SeaMonkey does not exhibit the same issue.

Thanks. I think that's all we can do. Thunderbird can't affect what Avast will or won't do to block connections.
