Steps to reproduce:

I have filters that automatically tag incoming emails and these filters are working and emails are getting tagged as expected

Actual results:

The unread tagged emails are not displaying the tag color since I updated Thunderbird, tag coloring only applies after they are read.

Expected results:

Unread tagged messages should be displayed with their respective tag color as they always did before the update.

Issue was caused by the use of a theme. There is no issue when using the official theme.
