STR:
- Visit some phabricator revision that's been generated for uplift (whose uplift-request-form has not yet been completed)
- Scroll to the bottom and choose
Add Action | Change Uplift Request Form - Notice the various fields that appear.
- Reload the page (Ctrl+R), and look for any changes in the uplift request form.
- Reload the page again (Ctrl+R) and look any changes in the uplift request form.
ACTUAL RESULTS:
The first time you reload, some of the uplift-request form fields disappear (though their labels stick around)
The next time your reload, their labels have disappeared too.
EXPECTED RESULTS:
No disappearing fields/labels.
Phabricator still seems to recognize that the fields are required even though it's not showing them, so if you get into this state, it's impossible to submit the uplift request form. And since phabricator helpfully remembers that you've got this form already in progress, it keeps you stuck in this broken state; you can't fix things by reloading or reopening in a new tab or restarting your browser.
WORKAROUND:
Once you're in this state, the only way I've found to recover (to get back to a form that you're actually able to submit) is:
(a) Save a copy of any text that you want to preserve from the fields that you've filled out and can still see.
(b) Click the "x" at the upper-right of the uplift request form
(c) Reload the page
(d) Choose "Add Action | Change Uplift Request Form"
(e) Copypaste back your content that you had saved in (a), and fill out and submit the whole form now before you inadvertently reload (or equivalent e.g. restarting Firefox) and trigger this bug again.
