Steps to reproduce:

  1. Open several normal (non-incognito) tabs in Firefox for Android with the tab view set to 'List', so that a scroll bar appears.
  2. Select the bottom-most tab
  3. Open an incognito tab (or switch to an existing one)
  4. Switch back to the non-incognito tab list view

Actual results:

The non-incognito tab selection has been lost, and the tab list has been scrolled back to the top.

Expected results:

The tab list should have retained its previous position and selection

I managed to reproduce the described issue on the latest Nightly build (123.0a1 from 2024-01-03).

The tab list did not keep its previous position and selection.

Device used: Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra (Android 14).
