We've received a report in https://github.com/webcompat/web-bugs/issues/131264 where it's impossible to open the support "Chat" window on eddiebauer.com.

To reproduce:

  1. Visit https://www.eddiebauer.com/my-account?view=dashboard in Firefox desktop
  2. Locate the chat button at the bottom right corner and click on it.

Expected:
Chat window opens up
Actual:
Nothing happens

The issue goes away by setting fission.autostart to false and restarting the browser.
From https://github.com/webcompat/web-bugs/issues/131264#issuecomment-1870578801:

:nika, since you are the author of the regressor, bug 1732358, could you take a look? Also, could you set the severity field?

For more information, please visit BugBot documentation.

I see no chat bubble on that page, even after signing up for an account. This may be a region-specific feature.

My vague guess from this being only an issue with fission.autostart, and according to the webcompat bug the chat bubble being implemented using a cross-origin iframe, is that perhaps this is caused by some kind of APZ input targeting issue.

Leaving a ni? for :hsinyi to find someone US-based who might be able to reproduce & figure out what's happening.

I'll find someone to take a look. I can reproduce this issue on Firefox and can confirm that it works on Chrome, not restricted by the location as the webcompat report stated.

Hi Oliver! Care to investigate and debug this?

Clearing my NI, as Artur is taking a look at this already.

UPDATE: it seems that something was changed on the website itself. Or the Firefox.
And chat in OOP iframe is working again.

I can no longer reproduce the issue either.
