Steps to reproduce:

When opening a .eml either from an attachment or as a file, the resulting email window does NOT show a "Reply All" button, although there are multiple recipients in the CC list.

When opening the original mail the "Reply All" button is being displayed, it only affects the .eml file mail.

This bug only occurs since Thunderbird 115. Opening the .eml file in Thunderbird 102 the "Reply All" button appears.

Actual results:

"Reply All" button is not showing in Thunderbird 115 when opening a .eml mail.

Expected results:

The button should appear next to the "Reply" button when opening a .eml mail.

Hi, and thanks for taking the time to file a bug report!

I'm failing to reproduce this issue locally. Would you be able to share the .eml file so I can investigate further? If you cannot share this on this public bug tracker but would be fine with sharing it privately, you can send it to me at brendan[at]thunderbird.net via email, or @brendan:abolivier.bzh on Matrix.

Hello Brendan!

Thank you for your reply, unfortunately I cannot share the original .eml file, there's way too much sensitive information in it, which would take some time to redact. Instead, I have tried to reproduce it myself with a dummy mail and was successful - on my machine. I did try it on different machines, sometimes the "Reply All" was shown, sometimes not - even when I copied my whole Thunderbird profile (AppData Local and Roaming). Very weird.

Thanks! I noticed that the .eml file you sent only included one recipient (including CC) but had another .eml file as an attachment which did include several recipients. I tested with both files, on both Windows and Linux, and on both platform I tested both files with Thunderbird 115 and Thunderbird Beta/Daily. I was still not able to reproduce the issue.

You mention you were able to reproduce on some machines. On the machines which did exhibit the issue, is this something you can reproduce consistently? And if so, could you share the commonalities between each of them (operating system, version of the OS, version of Thunderbird, etc) that the machines that exhibit the correct behaviour don't have?

I believe this is the same as bug 1847337
