Steps to reproduce:

Open https://github.com/mozilla-mobile/
Tap firefox-android
Tap commits
Long press the back button

Actual results:

The tab history pops up

Expected results:

The tab history doesn't pop up

Why would you expect long press to do nothing? It's equivalent to a "right-click" on a desktop browser, and if you right-click on the back or forward buttons in just about any browser it will show you the session history. Other mobile browsers also have this behavior -- safari on an iDevice, and Edge on Android.

Even if it were a bug, "Geckoview" (the browser engine) is the wrong place to file. It's clearly front-end "UI" functionality and nothing to do with web content rendering. And absolutely nothing to do with Sandboxing.

I don't understand the prerequisite. are you saying that if you turn fission off then the UI behaves differently?

I got the results backwards.

I expect the history to pop up.

With the pref off the bug doesn't occur.
