Steps to reproduce:
Install Thunderbird from the Microsoft Store, open Troubleshooting Information, click on "Open Folder" in the "Profile Folder" section. System is Windows 11.
Actual results:
When Thunderbird tries to open the "Profile Folder" in the explorer the error message occurs:
"Location is not available
C:\Users\lukas\AppData\Roaming\Thunderbird\Profiles\auc46eyg.default-release is unavailable. ..."
If you try to find the path above, you will notice that it doesn't exists.
Expected results:
Open the Profile Folder in the explorer.
The profile is actually located at:
C:\Users\lukas\AppData\Local\Packages\MozillaThunderbird.MZLA_h5892qc0xkpca\LocalCache\Roaming\Thunderbird\Profiles\auc46eyg.default-release
Thanks for reporting this issue.
There may also be an issue in another location which may need addressing at same time.
What do you see as the path to profile if you do the following:
- Help > Troubleshooting Information
- Under 'Application Basics' - near the bottom is 'Profiles' - click on 'about:profile'
- It opens in a new tab
- It will say info such as 'Root directory' and 'Local directory'
Can you provide an image of that 'about:profiles' tab so showing what it says about profile location.
If I try to click on any of those links i get the same error.
Those folders are also actually found at the location in the original post
Same issue with the FlatPak on Linux. Bug 1625111.
Mozilla have apparently been aware of the issue for a number of years. Bug 1731753 and it's friends.
