Steps to reproduce:

Thunderbird 115.7.0 (64 bit) + Windows 11: Just opened Thunderbird.

Only one mailbox has this problem as far as I can see. thunderbird\profiles\ldp7idp9.default-release\imapmail\secrethere\inbox is using 1.6gb

Actual results:

My standby memory fills up then the cursor moves slowly

Expected results:

The folder shouldn't take up lots of space and should clear when the program closes. Even if Thunderbird is still kind of active on a computer.

That is the size of inbox.msf file on disk?
That is the size after right+click on Inbox and pick properties > Repair?

It is a bit smaller than that but why is it loading the whole inbox into Standby memory and only 1 or 13? I have 13 including the local folder. I hope it's doesn't load them all. When standby memory is full even my mouse cursor moves slowly on an 18 core computer with 64GB of ram and an NVidia 3090 T-T

1. Thunderbird only loads the folder index, the .msf file. I very much doubt that inbox.msf is 1.6 GB.
2. I feel like you haven't precisely answered my questions. Correcting my typo, What is the size of inbox.msf file on disk?
3. You have a partial sentence - no one is going to know what you mean by "and only 1 or 13".
