Details

Steps to reproduce:

Firefox 123, self-updated from the previous version. "Official" build downloaded from https://www.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/new/

<audio> elements pointing to MP3 and WAV files stopped working. Checking about:support shows that only H264, VP9, VP8, AV1, Theora and AAC are enabled. Wave, FLAC, Vorbis, Opus, MP3 are red/unsupported.

Actual results:

No longer able to play WAV/MP3/OGG files.

Expected results:

Per https://developer.mozilla.org/en-US/docs/Web/Media/Formats/Containers#browser_compatibility those should be supported.

Version 122.0.1 works with those files.

Oops, sorry, got distracted. Ubuntu 22.04.4 and Debian 12 bookworm

Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Linux x86_64; rv:123.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/123.0

Component: Untriaged → Audio/Video: Playback
Product: Firefox → Core

Seems to be an old profile, apologies. Tried a separate profile but apparently made a mistake. Can no longer reproduce with a new profile.
