Steps to reproduce

  1. Launch Firefox.
  2. Open a new tab and focus the address bar.
  3. Focus a trending search.
  4. Open the result menu of the selected trending search and click on ‘Why am I seeing this?’ option.
  5. Open a new tab and focus the address bar.

Expected result

  • SUMO page opens in a new tab, previous trending search is not displayed in the Recent Searches section.

Actual result

  • SUMO page opens in a new tab, previous trending search is displayed in the Recent Searches section, even though the search has not been submitted.

Regression range

  • Will come back with more information ASAP.

Issue is verified as fixed on Firefox Nightly 125.0a1 on macOS 12, Windows 10 and Ubuntu 22.
A wider smoke testing session will be conducted during Nightly 125 merge regression test run.
