Optional Permission support for Android is being worked on with engineering complete target for Fx126. This is implementing functionality already on desktop, documented on SUMO at https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/manage-optional-permissions-extensions

We would be seeking the same documentation for Android, with appropriate changes for images/etc.

When completed they will be final.

Is this an on- or off-train release? Please indicate the product version number, if applicable, and add it to the end of the Summary field using the format of: Summary [Product V123]. [REQUIRED]

Shane, would you mind to edit comment 0 to reflect that the target is now V128? (I updated the bug title and Lucas is taking care of updating the target in Asana).

Hi Zac, the in-product link from comment 3 should be the one that we should be using for the Optional Permission UI in Fenix, I'm needinfo-ing you in this ticket as a reminder to update that link in the related patch (and so that when you will clear the needinfo we would be also signaling that the SUMO page has been updated in the patch).

thanks :rpl, I will keep the NI until it's been updated but I've also created 1896180 to make sure it's tracked.

Hi Lucas, would you mind to grant to my Mozilla user access to the draft linked in comment 1? I don't seem to have access to it yet.

Hi Lucas, would you mind to grant to my Mozilla user access to the draft linked in comment 1? I don't seem to have access to it yet.

Hey Luca! Access is now open to all @moz emails. With the feature live in V128, our focus shifts to content updates for V126. The draft isn't review-ready yet, so the link is just a rough outline. Peek if you're curious, but don't expect much yet, haha! We aim to have a preliminary version by next week's end for Nightly and Beta users, with a polished release for V128. Thanks!

The correct SUMO link was landed in the redesign patch so this is now completed in Android and this ticket is closed.
