User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; Intel Mac OS X 10.15; rv:109.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/119.0
Steps to reproduce:
The Quick Filter has 4 settings, Sender, Recipients, Subject, Body. The default setting when Quick Filter is activated is, three of the four are turned on: Sender, Recipients, Subject. I also turned on Body. (See the attached screenshot.)
Actual results:
When I close Thunderbird and restart, the Quick Filter settings are not retained for the Inbox. Body is once again turned off. The version of Thunderbird I was using prior to 115 didn't do this – it preserved the settings.
Expected results:
Settings should be retained as before. I use the Quick Filter quite often, and the majority of times I use it, I use all four settings.

I have tested this with 115.9.0 on Mac and it's not fixed.
This was reported fixed in Bug #1847265, and that bug was closed, so I couldn't report to the bug.

Tested using Windows 10 OS
beta 125.0b2
Quick Filter search - enter some text
Auto opened using Sender, Recipients, Subject.
Manually selected 'Body' so all four are selected.
Exited and restarted Thunderbird.
checked Quick Filter by entering some text in the search
Actual REsult:
All four are selected: Sender, Recipients, Subject, Body.
I'm not reproducing in Windows OS.

Apparently this was a misunderstanding by the reporter, this is fixed since 125.b01 and should be uplifted to ESR soon.

*** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of bug 1847265 ***
Sorry, I posted the new bug report because I was unable to reply to the closed bug report. Wayne recommended posting the new report.
I'm just a user who reports bugs, so I'm not too familiar with the correct protocol here. I'm not somebody who would test a preview release. I'm just waiting for bug fixes to 115, and want to be helpful.
Would it be helpful to leave bug reports open for a time after a fix has been made, at least for a while after a fix is folded into the new stable release? That way CC subscribers would get a heads up and be able to confirm fixes in the stable release.
thanks
