Resetting the search-bar contents loses focus on the input

STR:
- Type something in the global search bar at the top of the window
- (Click to dismiss the suggestions popup)
- Click the clear button
Expected result:
The focus is on the text field of the search field.
Actual result:
The visible focus moves out of the search field.
We want to keep the focus on the text field, because that's the most logical place to have focus after clearing the field. The button is not available to keyboard navigation. I would also assume that in some cases when clearing the field, one would want to type in the field afterward.
