I'm opening an article from a RSS feed I'm subscribed to in a new tab, and then close the tab.
Actual results
The article is still marked as unread (bold font) in the thread pane.
Expected results
The article should be marked as read (normal font) in the thread pane.
Also happens in Troubleshooting Mode. This behavior isn't new in TB126, it already started in TB125.
There is no such problem for email, and news messages.

When opening the feed article in a new window, it will be correctly marked as read after closing the window.

For reasons unknown the problem is gone in 126.0b3.
I'll keep the bug open for the time being to see whether it will last.

Hello,
I have tried but couldn’t reproduce this issue , I tested on Linux x86_64 on TB 126.0a1(20240402100824), 126.0b3(20240506165103), 127.0b5(20240603175044), I have tested on both POP and IMAP accounts and did not encounter this problem.

Yes, this appears to be a regression from bug 1879216 regarding feed articles shown as web page. Maybe Geoff has an idea what can be done about this.
