(Keywords: site-compat)

User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 10.0; Win64; x64; rv:125.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/125.0

Steps to reproduce:

For reference, I'm running v125.0.3 of Firefox on a 64-bit Windows 11 Pro laptop.

Try to go to a website or form that requires reCaptcha. Click the checkbox.

Actual results:

reCaptcha continues to spin infinitely instead of switching to a checkmark. "I'm human" verification that reCaptcha is supposed to provide fails, and the website or form requiring reCaptcha does not allow the user to proceed.

Expected results:

Depending on the website, when the checkbox was clicked, reCaptcha should've either

  1. Changed from a spinning circle to a green checkmark after a few seconds OR

  2. It should've asked the user to select objects from a number of pictures before then switching to a green checkmark or telling the user to try again.

I've also attempted to load a page with reCaptcha using Firefox's built in Troubleshooting Mode, and the issue remained unresolved. I also loaded the same page in Microsoft Edge, and reCaptcha worked as intended, so the issue doesn't seem to be with reCaptcha itself.

Same here, v125.0.3 of Firefox on a 64-bit Windows 10 Pro and Home so 2 different PCs get same issue.

Same here, ball just spills infinitely. Might be related to bad JSON format response from Google service.
Firefox v125.0.3 on 2 different Windows 10 Enterprise 22H2 Build 19045.4533 machines.
User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 10.0; Win64; x64; rv:125.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/125.0.

reCaptcha completely BROKEN in FireFox 125.0.3
Clicking on a reCaptcha causes it to spin indefinitely.

There is an error in the console when the spinner just spins, along the lines of:

Uncaught https://www.gstatic.com/recaptcha/releases/WQcDpAcHn0sjM6ZiVkU8JwNH/recaptcha__en.js
cause: TypeError: oB is not a function
message: "Error in protected function: oB is not a function"

I have no idea whether that or the accompanying stack is useful for diagnosis.

UA spoofing general.useragent.override = "Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 10.0; Win64; x64) AppleWebKit/537.36 (KHTML, like Gecko) Chrome/124.0.0.0 Safari/537.36" seems workaround.
