189721 - News Server Authentication Required Even When Saving Username / Password

I have noticed this problem with both Mozilla 1.3a & 1.2.1.

My news server (giganews) requires authentication.  I have entered my username &
password & have requested the Mozilla password manager store them.  When
initially starting Mail/News & browsing groups / reading articles,
authentication takes place properly (that is, I am not asked for a username or
password).

After some time of inactivity (it seems to vary, but is usually between five and
ten minutes), not reading messages or changing groups, I am asked for my
username & password when I do go to a new article or change groups.  If I close
Mail/News & restart it, I am no longer required to enter my username / password
(until I reach the period of inactivity again).

I have used multiple news readers trying to see if this was a problem specific
to my news server.  No other ones that I have used require me to re-authenticate
after a period of inactivity.  Only Mozilla seems to have this problem.

Additional note - I have not seen this behavior with Mail accounts.  Only news
accounts.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1.  Start Mail/News & open a newsgroup on the server
2.  Wait a few minutes (with no activity - reading / etc)
3.  You will be prompted for news server credentials.

Actual Results:  
I am asked to authenticate

Expected Results:  
Password manager should have authenticated me.
