We very much need engaged beta and daily users to provide us with timely feedback, and we need more of them. We also want these users to have a good experience using these channels. But the resources we provide in the form of documentation and forums are underutilized. Links are on the start page but not everyone pays attention to them, and in some cases the start page has been disabled.
The logical location to drive more engagement is the Thunderbird Help menu. Suggested placement is at the end of the Help list, just above "About xxxx". User should be directed to localized KB articles https://support.mozilla.org/kb/thunderbird-beta and https://support.mozilla.org/kb/thunderbird-daily (available soon).
Suggested wording is "Get help for xxxx". Other suggestions welcome.

I'd say this extra menu should be underneath the Get Help
first menu item.
It makes sense to keep these items that are contextually similar close to each other.
The first is more generic to the whole application, the second is specific for the current release channel.
Vineet, can you take care of this during this month?

Do we want to hide these menu items on ESR?

Yes, I think we can achieve this directly in the XHTML with some preprocessing.
We already the have the #ifdef NIGHTLY_BUILD
flag for Daily.
Rob, do we have a BETA_BUILD
flag as well?
