User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 10.0; Win64; x64; rv:126.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/126.0

Steps to reproduce:

Close Thunderbird. Try to back up profile or reopen Thunderbird.

Actual results:

Thunderbird can't be restarted: the UI doesn't appear and an additional zombie process starts.
The Thunderbird profile can't be backed up because one or more files is locked (presumably by one of the zombie processes).

Expected results:

All Thunderbird processes should have terminated. All locks on Thunderbird profile files should have been released.

Update to latest beta.

Thanks. I thought I was on the latest because I wasn't prompted to update. And I also tried to find similar bug reports — honest!

FWIW, FF couldn't restart when doing the update; hopefully the last artefact of this bug. All is well now.

Peter, thanks for updating the bug.
