This would be a regression. This problem was originally fixed in bug 86501.

Confirming. I've been bit by this twice in the last month. It's not very
pretty on OS X 10.2.3, which seems to have a problem removing VM swap files when
they're not needed anymore. Swap files can consume your hard drive rather
quickly (I rebooted and got 350MB freed up on my hard drive)
Lost my prefs, my bookmarks, and my saved passwords, but amazingly not my history.
Mozilla gave no warning when quitting that it was out of disk space, it just
silently trashed everything. I would have expected a "you're out of disk space,
so changes you made during this session won't be saved" or something.

Note that bug 86501 was bookmark-specific, prefs was never fixed. Reassigning to
ccarlen as better than Asa, but he may bounce this further on. Basically we need
to write into a temp file and then remove the existing prefs.js only if
everything succeeded. This was mentioned in other bugs, but I think those bugs
got closed with more specific fixes.

This has happened to me twice in the last 3 weeks. The first time I lost prefs &
bookmarks. The second time just the bookmarks. Is there anyway to recover the
lost data? I had a *lot* of bookmarks.

Should the fix for 132517 fix this as well?
