User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 10.0; Win64; x64; rv:127.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/127.0
Steps to reproduce:
- Open a new tab.
- Observe text in address bar.
Actual results:
Text in address bar states "Search with Google or enter address" even though I have the address and search bar split and keyword.enabled set to false. Entering dummy text into the address bar correctly treats it the text as a malformed URL.
Expected results:
Text in address bar should state "Enter address" as it did in v127.0.1 and prior if the address and search bar are split and keyword.enabled set to false.

The Bugbug bot thinks this bug should belong to the 'Firefox::Address Bar' component, and is moving the bug to that component. Please correct in case you think the bot is wrong.

On Win11x64 using Firefox 126.0/127.0/128.0b8 they all display the same string in address bar if keyword.enabled is set to false.
Odditude, can you please attach a screenshot with the exact field that you consider as incorrect? Thank you.

I consider this a bug because under this configuration, if a user entered a search term as prompted, they will reach the "Hmm. That address doesn’t look right" error page. The prompt should NOT include text to "search {searchengine}" in this configuration.
I can't edit the bug description, but I've confirmed on my laptop that the same behavior exists back to at least 127.0, so it's reasonable to assume it's existed longer and I simply didn't notice it before.
