Some things are needed:

  1. Web Codecs (that we're shipping soon)
  2. https://developer.mozilla.org/en-US/docs/Web/API/Window/showSaveFilePicker, that we're negative on
  3. de-prefix mozCaptureStream() (bug 1541471)
  4. security.block_Worker_with_wrong_mime (a worker script is returned with the wrong mime-type)

It should be possible to replace (2) by OPFS. We need to do (3) (for this particular site, simply aliasing works). (4) can be simply fixed by the dev.

Is there any webcodecs work needed for this to work still?

No, afaik it works when spoofing the UA, I tried various examples.

The author say that what's missing is storage related, e.g. file system access API that are not OPFS (the Chrome-style ones).
