There is something going on when a large number of warnings is printed out that causes bug 1906191. While we should figure out what's going on, reducing the number of warnings a) works around the problem, b) makes the build output more readable.
The vast majority of new warnings from rustc 1.80 come from syn, and they have been fixed in the newest versions.
