User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Android 13; Mobile; rv:130.0) Gecko/130.0 Firefox/130.0

Steps to reproduce:

Download and install Firefox nightly on Android

Actual results:

URL bar only displays TLD and not path or query string

Expected results:

display full URL including path and query string

Component: Untriaged → Toolbar
Product: Firefox → Fenix

I find this browser behavior irritating. Initially, I assumed I was on the homepage of the respective website.
If you want to put the domain in the foreground, you should highlight the domain part in color instead, as I have seen in other browsers (possibly desktop version).
In the current display, isn't there a risk that attached URLs are overlooked as parameters? Schematic example: example.org/redirect?url=https://bugzilla.mozilla.org. There is a risk of this being used for malicious purposes.

This was implemented in bug 1891525 without a user preference for some reason.

:mavduevskiy, since you are the author of the regressor, bug 1902798, could you take a look? Also, could you set the severity field?

Hi Aarjav, please confirm that this is the expected behaviour for the new address bar + navigation bar design. Thanks

This is a partial implementation of the URL bar, this will have to be addressed in phase 2 when the address bar is reworked. I am unsure of the security risks this hybrid version presents.
As suggested by the reporter, the primary domain needs to be in a different colour as compared to the sub-domain.

Tim will disable the URL change for now and we will revisit in phase 2.

The severity field for this bug is set to S3. However, the following bug duplicate has higher severity:

:tchoh, could you consider increasing the severity of this bug to S2?

Still isn't showing the entire URL.

:aarjav The change I believe you're asking for is beyond the change that I implemented.
That being said, do you want to have the change to be to show the same URL that is shown prior to the navbar work?

The update looks good to me.

(In reply to Aarjav [:aarjav] from comment #15)

The update looks good to me.

In that case, I'll close this be as fixed.
