With bug 1905157, this is more apparent:

  1. With the backup UI enabled, visit about:preferences
  2. Choose to restore from some encrypted backup
  3. Supply the wrong password
  4. Notice the error message in the dialog, and hit "Cancel"
  5. Re-open the dialog by clicking the button to restore

ER:

No error message should be displayed and the password should (probably?) have been cleared.

AR:

The dialog is in the same state as it was when hitting Cancel.
