1911082 - [meta] Set to Default Prompt (Existing Users)

Current Desktop Logic:

• For those who don’t have Firefox set as default, Every time you launch Firefox there is a “Set to Default” modal prompt with a checkbox to never show again
• Every 28 days we show a fox doodle spotlight model that prompts user to set to default

Current Mobile Logic:

• We prompt in On-boarding
• After 4 app launches we prompt in a Homescreen Card
• We have experimented with Push notification 3 days after install

Acceptance Criteria:

• Variant 1: Every 4 app launches (from coldstart)

• Max shown 3 times

• Run as a nimbus experiment to find out

• Good outcome: More people setting us to default

• Bad outcome: People uninstall or use less (pick a metric)

After latest discussion on jira ticket we will create tickets for now, with the initial criteria being:

• Every 4 cold start app launches.
• 2-week period between displays.
• Max shown 3 times.
• Displayed when user lands on home screen.

We will also look into multiple display possibilities, probably displaying during splash screen might involve more work.
