RESOLVED DUPLICATE of bug 1910820

Details

User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Linux x86_64; rv:128.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/128.0

Steps to reproduce:

I opened youtube and browsed some videos for a while. Eventually, when I had another video minimized I clicked on another video that started playing in that originally minimized window. I then maximized it again.

Note that this did happen multiple times to me already, however, it doesn't happen consistently, I think it has something to do with the minimization, but I'm not 100% certain here.

Actual results:

After clicking on the new video that started playing in the minimized window, everything got really laggy. After pressing i to maximize the window again, YouTube took about 5 seconds to even process that request, and once the video did maximize, any interaction was painfully slow. For example, when hovering over the progress bar, it took about a second for it to actually show up, after moving the mouse away, it took another second for it to disappear. Pressing the spacebar or clicking to pause the video was also incredibly slow, where the video ran for another 2-3 seconds before actually getting paused, same delay when unpausing.

I captured a profiler recording of this after YouTube already slowed down like this: https://share.firefox.dev/4d8KKKC

Note that after refreshing the page, the problem was gone. This might just be a YouTube bug, but i didn't encounter this on chromium before, even though I did use it for an entire day just to try.

Expected results:

No slowdown
