User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 10.0; Win64; x64; rv:129.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/129.0

Steps to reproduce:

Used Quick Filter

Actual results:

It caused the program to become unresponsive

Expected results:

It should have filtered the messages

I was forced to roll back Thunderbird to version 115 so that I can use Quick Filter. I hope this problem gets fixed soon.

pop account or imap?

Were you running 128.0.1? Or 128.1.0, which came out just this week?

I'm using it with pop accounts. I was using version 115 and then it upgraded automatically to version 128.1.0esr | Released August 6, 2024

This bug seems to be similar (if not exactly the same as) bug 1908761 (Quick Filter stalls computer and takes 10-20 seconds to display results when using certain sort types.)

I had to roll back to version 115 so that I can work.

bill,
Can you confirm this is solved for you with Thunderbird 128.2.0esr or newer?

Flags: needinfo?(bill)

I just installed version 128.4.0esr (64-bit) and the problem seems to have been fixed.

I have a folder with more than 68,000 messages and quick filter works perfectly.

Thank you!
