In this comment it was noted that, if pings.yaml is completely empty, we should remove it (as we have no way to add a completely empty file to the scraper). A second option is to add just a comment to the file and retain the file (no preference).
Whatever we do, this file should be updated to reflect the changes!

Does the scraper use versions, or just tip? That is, should this be uplifted?
