Steps to reproduce:
As https://discourse.mozilla.org/t/how-to-create-a-unified-starred-folder/135400/2?u=rokejulianlockhart explains, I created a custom folder to provide the functionality that a unified folder for starred messages would, in its absence.
Actual results:
The process was unintuitive and doesn't automatically adapt to account additions.
Expected results:
Thunderbird should provide a unified folder for starred messages by default, or abstract the tags for them into a default tag of sorts - whichever is more consistent with existent functionality.
